Introductions to Mythology

"Nothing is less real than realism. Details are confusing. It is only by selection, be elimination, by emphasis, that we get at the real meaning of things."

 Georgia O'Keeffe

I find delving into the intricacies and complexities of human nature an interesting enterprise and look forward to doing so in this class this semester.  I often personally consider characters as one of my interests in life as I am constantly seeking the company of interesting and unique individuals, in every condition and background.  As a hairdresser, I am lucky enough to get to listen to people talk at me all day at work and I’ve found that very different people are often incredibly similar in so many ways.  I also appreciate the liberty of myth (in many forms) to illustrate the truth without actually stating any of it.  So let’s study our precedents to be able to better understand our compatriots.
